facebook.com
http://www.facebook.com
You must have a school-affiliated e-mail address to sign up for a facebook.com account. The Web site which started by connecting people at a few elite universities to their friends at other institutions, has expanded to include virtually every college and university in the United States, and even some abroad. It was recently opened to high school students and people with business e-mail addresses, too. Like MySpace, you register, create a profile and then "friend" people you know. They choose to "accept" you as a friend and your network grows. Post photos, join groups, write messages and even share your blog in the My Notes section. Privacy settings can be adjusted to disclose as much, or as little, information as you would like.
