Tom Cruise
Paramount's Sumner Redstone recently decided to drop Cruise and his production company due his behavior and advocacy of personal causes. The latest Mission Impossible movie did miserably at the box office. But Cruise's criticism of Brooke Shield's use of anti-depressants and his famous couch-jumping on the Oprah show did shoot him to the top of Forbes Celebrity 100 list.
Born in Syracuse, New York, in 1962, Cruise considered professional wrestling and life as a Franciscan priest before pursuing his acting career. His success in films like "Top Gun" (1986), "Born on the Fourth of July" (1989), "Jerry McGuire" (1996) and "Magnolia" (1999), has earned Cruise three Golden Globe awards and three Academy Award nominations. Upcoming projects include "Vanilla Sky," with Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruise, and "Minority Report," a film directed by Steven Spielberg.
